The Kennedy-King College Campus is part of the city of Chicago's plan to revitalize the Englewood community.

 

Project Description

The new Kennedy-King College campus is located in the Englewood community on a 40-acre campus at 63rd and Halsted. This $202 million, 500,000 sq-ft project will have six buildings; academic, applied science, library, culinary and theater, athletics and student services, and a day-care center.  The library, bookstore, restaurant, athletic facilities and day-care center will be open to the public. The new campus replaces the existing one at 6800 S. Wentworth Ave.

 

d'Escoto, Inc.'s Role

d'Escoto provided project management and superintendent services for the 28,000 sq-ft library and 12,000 sq-ft daycare building as well as coordinating and scheduling the site improvements and public utilities for the entire 40-acre campus. Other tasks included review and approval of all site improvement pay applications and change orders as well as processing all site improvement RFIs and submittals Preconstruction services were also provided and included the procurement of all the site improvement trades: bid review meetings, and award recommendations and value engineering.
