Project Description

The Chicago Public Schools Capital Improvement Program involves the following projects:

¨    Playlots Program:

This program involved the construction of 58 playlots throughout the school system.  Project scope entailed oversight of the removal of existing facilities, grading, asphalt paving, furnishing, and installing state-of-the-art playlot equipment and superior quality, soft surface material as a safety surface.

¨       Playgrounds Program:

This program involved the construction of 5 sites throughout the school system.  Project scope entailed supervision of removal of existing facilities, grading, asphalt paving, furnishing, and installing new playground equipment and appropriate safety surfaces.

¨       Athletic Fields and Stadiums Program:

The Chicago Public Schools Athletic Fields and Stadiums Program involved the installation and renovation of 17 fields and stadiums throughout the school system.  Project scope entailed the removal of existing facilities, grading, drainage, furnishing, and installing athletic field equipment and other upgrades.

¨     Exterior Maintenance and Construction Program:

This program involved the installation of site improvements at 200 sites.  Project scope included oversight of asphalt overlays, concrete repairs, fencing installation and repair/install new landscaping.  Additional work involves the management of the landscape maintenance at almost 600 sites.

d'Escoto, Inc. has provided construction management and construction supervision services to coordinate the Chicago Public Schools Capital Improvement Program.  These services included project programming, schedule creation and monitoring, construction inspection, payment review, change order management and coordination with over 600 local schools to minimize disturbances to students and faculty.
